RIDE THE BLACK LINE SUMMER RACE SERIES 2012
Yes, it’s been pretty quiet around here the past few weeks. Unfortunately, the internet has had to take few steps down on my priority list with everything going on in my life this year (I’m getting married!) so blogging has been a little
That said, we’ve been working hard at putting together another fast and furious Summer Race Series at the legendary Encino Velodrome — and I’m super excited about it!
Once again we have been teaming up with some of our favorite bike shops in Los Angeles to bring a unique and special track racing event every other Wednesday night from June 27th to September 5th. Expect to see some great racing, awesome prizes and all around good times.
Details on each event will be coming shortly. Just click the banner in the upper right corner of this page for further announcements, flyers, recaps and results. Stay tuned and SPREAD THE WORD!
TOMORROW NIGHT AT VELO SPORTS CENTER
Now the only indoor wooden velodrome in the country. Despite all the name changes, racing (or watching races) at Southern California’s multi-million dollar Velo Sports Center facility is a true privilege so get your ass down there tomorrow evening.
More info at the LAVRA website.
THIS WEEKEND AT DICK LANE VELODROME
Get ready for The Keirin! This Saturday, the Pro Race Series kicks off with one of the most exciting track races of the year. A quick look at the start list and you can tell things are going to get fast. And don’t forget about the Need For Speed Sprints on Friday night.
Full race flyer is available HERE.
THIS WEEKEND AT SAN DIEGO VELODROME
Saturday Night Lights! Nice to have some USAC-sanctioned track racing in San Diego. I’m definitely going to try to get down there. Get all the details HERE.
ALSO Friday Night Racing begins this weekend. The perfect night to get your race chops up if you want to hit their famous Tuesday Night Races.
L.A. FIXED GEAR CIRCUIT RACE
History was made on Sunday when the USAC-sanctioned LA Circuit Race included a race for fixed gear riders. One lap on a four-mile course with two sweeping u-turns — it was short, tough and sweet. All of my buddies showed up to race and it was great seeing some good friends come out. Tony Z sprinted into first place, Willow Juarez took second and Ryan Barrett took third. Big thanks to Rahsaan Bahati and James Zaldua for putting this on and from what I hear, there will be more to come!
My man Ace Boogie captured the photos. See the rest of the set on Flickr.
