This is a teaser for something that’s “coming soon” but I’m too lazy to look up what exactly it is. Just something pretty and sparkly to look at which is aaall good with me.
City Grounds just posted up a great photo recap of the NJS Bike Show. That Panasonic funny bike won the prize for Rarest NJS Bike for its stamped Campy group. Pretty nice!
Here’s the track program for Sunday. It will be split into two parts:
NJS TRACK SESH PART I ($5) — Group warm-up, motorpaced paceline, Encino-style Flying 200m TT’s.
NJS TRACK SESH PART II ($5) — NJS Keirn Tournament, Non-NJS Keirin tournament, Women’s Keirin Tournament, Riser Bar Chariot Races.
Encino-style Flying 200m TT — A 200-meter solo time trial with a flying start. All riders ride around the top of the track at a slow pace and one by one, each rider takes off from the group for one warm-up lap followed by the 200-meter effort. Make sure to get off the track as soon you’ve finished your effort!
Keirin — An 8-lap race between 4-9 riders. The first 5.5 laps are paced by a motorcycle or bicycle and the last 2.5 laps are all-out sprints. Winners from each heat will advance to the final round.
Chariot Race — A one-lap sprint between 2-4 riders from a standing start. The chariot races on Sunday will be open to bikes with risers, or flat bars ONLY.
This is allegedly a custom-built frame for German sprint overlord Michael Hübner circa 1991 for his season participating in the Japanese Keirin circuit. Beauty.
It’s for sale! See more pics and make an offer over at NJS EXPORT.
