ONE DAY IN APRIL

This documentary-in-the-making about Indiana University’s Little 500 bicycle race looks like it could be incredible. Since last winter, the filmmakers have been following four IU cycling teams as they train and prepare for a shot at glory in one of the greatest and most legendary bike races in America. Now — as the big race day approaches — they need your help to finish the film. If you want to see this teaser trailer become a full movie, donate now at INDIE GO GO!

Thanks to Kyle for the tip.

UNSTOPPABLES: MIGUEL AND PACO

Black Train Films have posted a beautiful and poignant new clip from their upcoming documentary about a team of Spanish paracyclists:

Paco, a member of the Genesis cycling club in Barcelona, had a massive surprise the day he turned up at the Velodrome and found his hero Miguel Indurain there to greet him. (thanks Miguel)

Unfortunately shortly after the visit, Paco lost his battle with Cancer. He had managed to survive longer than the doctors expected him to, showing the fighting spirit that predominates throughout our documentary. We dedicate this clip in loving memory of Francisco Gutiérrez Quirós, (Paco) who passed away on December the 29th 2012, aged 47. R.I.P.

They are hoping to have the film wrapped up later this year and I can’t wait. Check out more Unstoppables.

UNSTOPPABLES: ELISA CAZALLA

From the documentary about a team of disabled cyclists from Barcelona hoping to compete at the 2012 Paralympic Games.

Please help make this inspiring film happen! Donate generously at INDIEGOGO.

« Unstoppables (“Imparables" in it’s native language, Spanish) is based on the belief that we as a society urgently need to find and share ways of overcoming our personal and social barriers, bringing about a complete change of attitude. We need to discover the key factors that will allow us to evolve more positively from our worst life crises. »

Also check out the official trailer which I posted earlier this year.

HELP FIXATION GET INTO ARCLIGHT FILM FEST

The fixed gear documentary Fixation has been submitted to the ArcLight Documentary Film Festival and could really use your help. The top 10 most “liked” trailers will make it into the festival and there is a cash prize. The filmmakers could really use the cash to clear music rights so that the film can be distributed on DVD. The film is rad and features all kinds of fixed gear riders from the city-bound speed junkies to velodrome champions like Jamie Staff.

THE BEST SEAT IN THE WORLD

Check this new trailer for an upcoming documentary about London’s Herne Hill Velodrome. There will be screening at Look Mum No Hands on Saturday October 8th at 7pm. I hope they figure out a way to bring it Stateside because I can’t wait to see this one.

WISH I WAS THERE…

I’ve been sick with the worst case of strep throat for the last two weeks and I’m just now getting over it. One of the worst parts about being sick is when I see videos with all my friends having a blast and I couldn’t be there. Someone call me a wah-mbulance!

Anyway, the premier party for To Live & Ride In LA looks like it was rad.

LIVING AND RIDING IN L.A.

Coinciding with the DVD release of To Live And Ride In LA from Trafik Pictures, LA Weekly just dropped a cool little article about riding fixed in in the streets of Los Angeles. So go check out what my buddy Sean Martin has to say about never coasting in the city.

Read the full article HERE. And make sure to come to the To Live & Ride In LA DVD release party tomorrow night.

TO LIVE AND RIDE IN L.A.

The feature-length fixed gear doc is about to drop on DVD on June 21st and Trafik Pictures just released this teaser from the shoot at Encino Velodrome.

I guarantee that the velodrome segment in the movie is at least TWICE as long as this clip so it’s probably worth checking out the screening coming up on June 25th in Los Angeles, Germany, London and Phoenix.

A website dedicated to the support and growth of grassroots track cycling, the comradery and heritage of the worldwide velodrome circuit and the roots and culture of fixed gear bicycle racing.
