Been working around the world lately and this week I find myself touching down in New York City. So I’ve been riding around these streets remembering how New York messenger culture first got me into track bikes when I was hanging around here over a decade ago. It’s funny to think about how track racing influenced this generation of messengers who had a huge influence on me and my generation of track racers. I guess all that shit has to come around full circle. When you have a minute, sit down and watch this video. Consider it a history lesson.
This post is dedicated to my old friend Jayse — an ex-messenger I used to live with in Portland who introduced me to riding fixed gear. I don’t know where you are now but I hope you’re well and doing good things.
So last month there was this new reality show on Travel Channel called Triple Rush and it was all about bike messengers. Well that show only ran for a couple weeks before getting pulled.
Now the producers, fans and messengers who were involved in the show are fighting to get it back on the air. Show your support for Triple Rush by liking this page on F’book.
