  4. CAV RETURNS TO TRACK FOR REVOLUTION The big news bit to come out today is that reigning Road World Champion Mark Cavendish will be going back to his roots and returning to the velodrome. He will be racing in the second event of the Revolution season at Manchester Velodrome next Saturday. This will be Cav’s first appearance on the track in a couple years and he’ll be racing alongside other track stars such as Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas and Alex Dowsett.   9. TRACK WORLD CUP: SUPER SARAH HAMMER


    While Azizulhasni Awang crossing the finish line with a seven-inch spike through his leg was the talk of the Manchester Track World Cup a couple weeks ago, Sarah Hammer’s victory in the Women’s Omnium was probably the most brilliant performance of the entire event.

    Just watch her lay down the “hammer” (get it?) in the last four laps of the Scratch Race. Amazing!
