WORLD CHAMPS: FRONTSIDE BAR FLIP

One of the more impressive moves I’ve seen on the track this year — especially since the rider gets back up to finish out the race. This comes just a few minutes after the Russian team had their own little mishap. Please take note of the Belgian rider’s hand position before he goes down.

This is why I’m always yelling at my riders: “TOPS OR DROPS!” Your steering is just not as stable with your hands resting on the bar like that and if you get bumped, you’re more likely to crash. There are no brake hoods on these bikes so nothing to stop your hands from sliding forward and losing the bar like this guy. Keep those mittens in the drops or on the top of the bar (the straight part on either side of the stem).

SIX DAYS OF BERLIN: U23 FINALE

Madison racing is pretty crazy and this POV video seems to capture it all: the surges, the sprints, the handslings, the crashes, the points, the glory and the mediocre German rock band. Just multiply that by six and you’ve got the 102nd Six Days Of Berlin.

POV SIX DAY CRASH

This is some awesome footage from the Berlin Six Day which is going on right now. One of the teams had cameras mounted on their bikes and the result looks rad. Madison races are so crazy!

Beautiful stuff!

Rad edit of the Madison action at the Zürich Six Day last week.

I just noticed that our buddy Kit Karzen picked up fourth place. Congrats, Kit!

Yesterday Cari Higgins and Jennie Reed made history, winning the very first Women’s Madison National Championship title at Elite Nats.

By the way, the Madison races were AWESOME to watch. Read the full re-cap on USA Cycling.

One more from Dick Lane Velodrome. This is the limited edition t-shirt print that will be available at the races on Saturday.

Loving that coat of arms! Ha ha!

Which team will be crowned champion of The Madison at Dick Lane Velodrome on Saturday?

Looks like it will be an exciting race.

Get yo-self ready. The Alpenrose Six Day is right around the corner — starting on Monday June 28th and continuing until Saturday.

Madison teams will be racing on all six days and accumulating points to compete for the FIAC Six Day National Championship title. Not to mention plenty of daily prizes and primes.

This is THE six day race event so if you want to see some Madisons, I suggest stopping by Alpenrose Velodrome next week. Races will start at 6pm on weekdays and 11am on Saturday.
