  2. INTRO TO TRACK RACING BEGINS MAY 2nd

With the 2012 Summer Race Series a couple months away, we got time for one more round of our infamous Intro To Track Racing course at Encino Velodrome. The course is six Wednesday night sessions from 7pm to 10pm starting May 2nd through to June 6th. If you are interested in racing the Summer Race Series this year, then I highly suggest attending.

The program is perfect for novice track riders who wish to learn the rules of different track events as well as experienced racers who want to stay in top form. Each night we’ll focus on a different track racing event or discipline. First we learn the rules and strategies of the race and then riders get on the track and give it a go. Encino Velodrome has one of most welcoming atmospheres in the track scene so if you are stoked on racing but a little bit intimidated to hit the banks, this is the perfect course for you. Plus lots of advanced riders attend the Wednesday night sessions and they always have good tips to share with the noobs.

Speaking of noobs, if you haven’t ridden on the track before, you MUST complete the Encino Velodrome Beginner’s Class prior to taking this course. The next class is on Saturday April 28th at noon. Do it!

So how much? Each Intro To Track Racing session is ten bucks (so bring cash) or you can pre-pay all six sessions for only fifty bucks. Just smack that Paypal button below (by the way, ALL the money goes straight to Encino Velodrome, a non-profit organization). Pre-paid riders are also invited to attend an additional Wednesday night training session for FREE on either April 25th, June 13th or June 20th. That’s seven sessions for fifty bucks— what a deal!

Feel free to CONTACT ME with any questions, concerns or suggestions.

  3. INTRO TO TRACK RACING: ONE MORE FOR 2011

Time to get your winter learning on. The lights at Encino Velodrome are going out in December so I figure we have just enough time to it in one more round of the Intro To To Track Racing classes. It’s $10 per session but space is limited to if you want to reserve a prepaid spot for all six weeks, hit the Paypal button below and bring your receipt to the first session.

If you haven’t ridden on the track before, you MUST complete the Encino Velodrome Beginner’s Class prior to taking this course. There’s a Beginner’s Class being taught THIS SATURDAY AT NOON. Go to it!

If you got any questions, please send me an e-mail. Again, space is limited so hit the Paypal button to pre-register and guarantee your spot.

  4. SUMMER RACE SERIES: BRING ON THE RIVALRIES

Almost a year ago, we documented a dramatic altercation between two local teams: The Juice and Chain Gang TO. Well, the tension has never died down since that fateful Wednesday night. In fact there are a lot of team rivalries out there and I’m asking all those teams to come and settle it at Encino Velodrome during the RTBL Summer Race Series.

The prestigious and soon-to-be-legendary Team Trophy will be the only overall series award. It will be granted to the club or team that earns the most points over the course of the five-night race seres. Points will be awarded for placing well in races and participation (details HERE). The trophy is being fabricated right now by Warren Holzman at Iron Studios Ltd (thanks to Woody at GSC for hooking that up) and it will be awarded to the winning team on the last night of the Summer Race Sereis (September 7th).

So I’m challenging all teams and clubs out there to bring out your teammates and prove that you are the fastest, the strongest, the biggest and the bestest team IN THE WORLD!

CLICK HERE for more information on how points will be awarded. Don’t forget that the Summer Race Series starts on Wednesday July 6th with the H&S Time Trials Night.
