INTRO TO TRACK RACING IS BACK

The infamous Wednesday night sessions at Encino Velodrome returns for 2011. This six-week class is exactly what it sounds like. The program introduces new track riders to the main disciplines of the velodrome and the skills required to race them. Each week of the course, we learn and practice a new event and the final session will be a multi-event Omnium race night.

While the class is geared toward new trackies, this will also a great way for experienced riders to get in some practice and tune up their race skills right before the 2011 season kicks off at Encino Velodrome (first race is Apr 2nd). Plus it’s just fun to ride in circles and race your buddies.

All six sessions will be on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm to 10:00pm starting on February 9th. If it rains (which means no riding for most outdoor velodromes), the session will be postponed to the following Wednesday. It’s $60 for the full course and if you miss a night, you can make it up the next time we run the course. Space is limited so please pre-register — hit the Paypal button below and bring your receipt to the first session.

If you haven’t ridden on a velodrome before, you must complete the Encino Velodrome Beginner’s Class prior to taking this course (there’s a Beginner’s Class being held on Saturday, January 22nd). Also, all riders are welcome to stop by on Feb 2nd at 7:00pm for a little prep/evaluation session to determine rider skill levels — nothing serious, just some fun races and such.

If you got any questions, please send me an e-mail. Again, space is limited so hit the Paypal button to pre-register and guarantee your spot.

Intro To Track Racing - More Rain!

Looks like it’s gonna be raining all day tomorrow over Encino Velodrome and that track surface is SLIPPERY WHEN WET! So week two of our Intro To Track Racing class will be delayed till next week. See you then.

Good to see some of our Intro To Track Racing riders representin’! The next session starts tomorrow. See you there.

Intro To Track Racing vs. The Rain

The weather forecast is calling for rain tomorrow. I think it’s safe to say that we might have to postpone the start of the Intro To Track Racing class at Encino Velodrome for a week. If the sky clears up by mid-afternoon tomorrow then anyone who wants to show up can show up and we’ll have a fun session of riding and racing. Otherwise, see you next Wednesday!

Intro To Track Racing In One Week!

Intro To Track Racing - Oct 6th

Just a reminder that the Intro To Track Racing class at Encino Velodrome starts in one week on October 6th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm — and will continue for six Wednesdays nights.

For those of you planning to attend the course, please come to Encino Velodrome tonight at 7:00pm for a fun little pre-session to help us all get to know each other. We’ll just be riding around, practicing some drills and running a few races.

The Intro class will focus on a different track racing event each week. It’s $60 for the full six-week course. If you want to ensure your spot in the class, click the Paypal button below. Otherwise you can pay cash on the first night but there’s no guarantee that there will be room for you as space is limited.
