PARA CYCLING WORLDS: LIVE STREAMING
Medals were awarded as records fell during day one of the Para Cycling Track World Championships yesterday at HDC Velodrome. If you can’t make it out to the track but want to watch some of the competition, here’s a LIVE STREAM (goes live at 4pm PST).

MEET THE PARALYMPIANS
I can’t stress how awesome it is that Los Angeles is hosting a World Championship track cycling event this week. The UCI Para-Cycling Track Worlds starts tomorrow and the lovely Pat Benson made this video a couple weeks ago to introduce some of the athletes who will be competing.
Admission is free at the Home Depot Center Velodrome so be sure to come check out some of the races.
PARA-CYCLING WORLDS THIS WEEK IN L.A.
The Home Depot Center Velodrome and the City of Los Angeles are proud and honored to host the UCI Para-Cycling World Championships this week. A world-class event like this doesn’t come to town too often so, come check out the world’s strongest paracyclists race for those Champion Stripes.
Pursuits, Kilo’s and 500m TT’s will be on Thursday through Saturday. Tandem Sprints will be on Sunday (definitely don’t miss that!). Check out the full schedule on the official Para-Cycling World Champs website.
USA v CANADA: A NIGHT AT THE VELODROME
This video came out last week so it’s already pretty old (ancient by internet standards). Even if you’ve already seen it, it’s fun to watch again.
Filmed during the USA v. Canada Showdown at the HDC Velodrome a couple weeks ago. The exhibition event was awesome with a great crowd and I hope they put on another one soon.
NEXT WEEK AT HOME DEPOT CENTER VELODROME
To get hyped for the UCI World Cup competition in Colombia next month, the USA and Canadian national teams are holding a special race night at the Home Depot Center Velodrome in Carson, CA. The USA vs. Canada Showdown will feature Sprints, Keirins, Points Races and lots more between some of the fastest riders from each country.
I expect this will be an awesome night of races with a lot of teamwork on the track — something we don’t see too often in a sport where the field is made up of two dozen or more competing countries. Admission is FREE for spectators and there will be drinks and food for the thirsty and hungry. Get ready for some fun at the bike races Tuesday night!
RODNEY MULLEN 1987
A little bit of fun for your Monday morning. Here’s skate legend Rodney Mullen at a freestyle contest in Carson, CA circa 1987. Dude has got some skeellz! Personally, I haven’t skated for years but I love seeing this vintage footage.
Off topic? Kind of… except that the contest is being held on the infield of the ‘84 Olympic Velodrome. Nice!
ELITE NATS: PHOTOS BY VELO IMAGES
Posting Samson’s photos earlier totally reminded me that Jack had sent me some cool shots from Brian Hodes aka Velo Images. Anyone who’s seen Brian’s work knows that he takes some of the best racing photos and his captures from Elite Nats are completely amazing.
