If you’ve been paying attention to track racing in North America (i.e. reading this site), you may have noticed that we just had a pretty busy weekend including: the Fixed Gear Classic at the National Sports Center Velodrome, the Testarossa Velodrome Challenge at Hellyer Park Velodrome and SCNCA’s Masters Track Champs at Encino Velodrome. Woot! That’s a lot of racing.
Results and recaps are still coming in. Here’s what we’ve got so far…
For the Testarossa Velodrome Challenge:
» A great recap of the big weekend in San Jose up at Affinity Cycles.
» NCNCA Racing rounded up a ton of race videos and photo sets from TVC.
» A great set of photos from DJ Twinky’s Flickr.
For the SCNCA Masters Champs:
» Results have been posted at Encino Velodrome’s site.
» Some great photos at Pat Benson’s Flickr.
» And of course, my own videos from Saturday and Sunday (and an epic crash).
There will probably be some more stuff coming out in the next week or so. I will keep my eyes peeled.
It’s gonna be a fast and exciting weekend at the National Sports Center Velodrome with the Minnesota Fixed Gear Classic. Above is a video of highlights from the 2008 FGC (there was a hiatus in 2009) to get you hyped up.
Races start tomorrow and will be going through the whole weekend. This is a big event and will surely draw some of the heavy hitters from around the world. You better get ready!

The National Sports Center is looking for women riders who are interested in competing at the Fixed Gear Classic to be held June 11-13. A $5500 purse is on the line over the 3 days of racing and the race organizers would love to have a full women’s field to compete for the cash prizes. In order to make this happen, the NSC Velodrome team has some travel stipends available for out-of-town women who wish to compete. If you think you may be interested in making the trek and in need of some help, please contact Bob Wiliams at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (763) 785-5614.
More info on the event can be found here.
