THROWBACK THURSDAY: A FIST FULL OF HANDLEBARS

My buddies at Predator Cycling just posted up this POV video from an Encino Velodrome race a few years ago. I didn’t make it to this race because I had to work that day but it looks like the team had a good time.

INTRO TO TRACK RACING BEGINS MARCH 6th

The popular six-week class returns to Encino Velodrome in one month. This course will be six Wednesday night sessions from March 6th to April 10th and taught by yours truly. If you’re interested in getting into track racing, check it out.

The program is perfect for novice track riders who wish to learn the rules of different track events as well as experienced racers who want to stay in top form. Each night we’ll focus on a different event or discipline. First we learn the rules and strategies of the race and then riders get on the track and give it a go. Encino Velodrome has one of most welcoming atmospheres in the track scene so if you are stoked on racing but a little bit intimidated to hit the banks, this is the place to come. A lot of advanced riders also attend the Wednesday night sessions to get some practice and sharpen their strategies and they always have good tips to share with the noobs.

Speaking of noobs, if you haven’t ridden on the track before, you MUST complete the Encino Velodrome Beginner’s Class prior to taking this course. The next class is on Saturday February 23rd at noon. This will get you certified to ride the track so do it!

So how much? Each Intro To Track Racing session is ten bucks (so bring cash) or you can pre-pay all six sessions for only fifty bucks. Space is limited so pre-paying is the ONLY way to reserve your spot in the class. Just smack that Paypal button below (by the way, ALL the money goes straight to Encino Velodrome, a non-profit volunteer-run organization). Pre-paid riders are also invited to attend an additional Wednesday night training session for FREE on either February 27th or April 17th. That’s seven sessions for fifty bucks— what a deal!

Please E-MAIL ME with any questions, concerns or suggestions.

PREDATOR KEIRIN CLASSIC - THE MOVIE

Wheels were rolling at the last Summer Race Series event and the cameras were too. Hern just put together this epic video of the Predator Keirin Classic which goes pretty well with Predator Cycling’s race recap.

Don’t miss out on the Orange 20 Track Cup coming this Wednesday night at Encino Velodrome!

SUMMER RACE SERIES: PREDATOR KEIRIN CLASSIC

Encino Velodrome was on fire last night with some intense Keirin racing. Every field was full and some heavyhitters showing up to lay down the law. The stands were overflowing with spectators who were all placing bets on Keirin heats. My friend Devon Tsuno was on site to capture some of the action. If you weren’t there you missed out on an awesome night of track racing and good times but the Summer Race Series continues on August 22nd.

Results have been posted HERE.

TONIGHT AT ENCINO VELODROME

One of the most action-packed nights in the Summer Race Series and we are expecting some seriously heavy hitters tonight. Do not miss this.

SUMMER RACE SERIES: PEDALER’S WEST 500

These are just a few of the faces who showed up to race in the Pedaler’s West 500 last night at Encino Velodrome. Every rider has been top notch and the spectators ain’t afraid to cheer them on. With three out of six events down, I couldn’t be happier with how this year’s Summer Race Series is going. Big thanks go out to all the racers for sweating it out, the crowd for yelling it out and of course our awesome sponsors for handing it out.

Photos taken by Gus Sarmiento. Here are last night’s RESULTS!
