VELODROME CONSTRUCTION BEGINS IN COLORADO


As one track shuts its doors, another is born. The Boulder Valley Velodrome project broke ground a few days ago in Erie, Colorado and Daily Camera was there to hear from some of the dreamers who are making this a reality.

The man who dreamed up the Boulder Valley Velodrome talks with Dave Towle about his plans for building a 250-meter outdoor wooden track in Eerie, Colorado. The project looks like it’s coming along and just need some support from the right places.

The website for Boulder Valley Velodrome goes live on Feb 5th.
An artist’s rendering of the new velodrome going up in Erie, Colorado.  The Boulder Valley Velodrome will be a 250-meter outdoor wooden designed by Peter Junek.  This is going to be the third velodrome in Colorado (California still wins with four) and it could be open for riding as early as Spring next year.
