BOULDER INDOOR CYCLING TO CLOSE DOORS
A very sad week for grassroots track cycling in America as it was announced earlier that Colorado’s indoor wooden velodrome (and mountain bike course) is shutting down. This all comes very suddenly and I wish that I had the opportunity to ride there.
The velodrome at Boulder Indoor Cycling was a 142-meter indoor wooden track and featured local racing almost every Friday night. It was also a popular spot for Colorado cyclists to train during winter months when it was too cold to ride outside. With a mountain bike circuit built into the in-field of the velodrome, the facility attracted all types of riders. We all mourn the loss of such a great community effort.
This Friday, BIC will be liquidating everything that they can and plan to hold one last Friday night race event before shutting down.
