TOMORROW NIGHT IN LOS ANGELES

Bicycle Kitchen is having a fundraising party to help them raise money for the purchase of a permanent location. Be there! And don’t forget your square dancing shoes.

The goal is to raise $30,000 and they’re less than $7,000 away so if you can’t make it, please donate generously HERE.

BICI COCINA SEEKS PERMANENT SHELTER

…and you can help!

Bicycle Kitchen, Los Angeles’ treasured, community-run, non-profit bike co-op (and arguably the root of all contemporary bicycle culture in L.A.), is buying a permanent home but they need our donations to make it happen. This fundraiser has been going on for the past couple weeks and I spaced on posting it. With five days left to reach their $30,000 goal, we’re running out of time — so here’s the short version of the video.

DONATE FIRST! And then you can go ahead and check the long version.
For the past month or two, Bicycle Kitchen has been celebrating their 5th anniversary with a series of fundraiser events in an effort to raise $55,555.55 for the original non-profit bike co-op in Los Angeles.

Events have included alleycats, movie screenings, hot dogs and more and this Saturday Bike Kitchen is making a climactic one-last-push-to-raise-funds with and Epic Benefit Concert.

LA’s bike culture owes so much of its existence to Bike Kitchen so if you ride in this city then come on out and show your support and gratitude! Besides, it’s gonna be loads of fun and I hear there’s a pretty sweet track bike up for grabs in the silent auction.

Bicycle Kitchen is at Heliotrope and Melrose (the Bicycle District). Party starts at 9pm. Donate generously and be prepared to have a blast.

Lauren M. Whaley of KPCC just did a nice piece on LA’s Bicycle Kitchen. Happy birthday, Bici Cucina!
