Get yo-self ready. The Alpenrose Six Day is right around the corner — starting on Monday June 28th and continuing until Saturday.

Madison teams will be racing on all six days and accumulating points to compete for the FIAC Six Day National Championship title. Not to mention plenty of daily prizes and primes.

This is THE six day race event so if you want to see some Madisons, I suggest stopping by Alpenrose Velodrome next week. Races will start at 6pm on weekdays and 11am on Saturday.

Races In The Northwest

I guess the rainy season is coming to an end because the tracks up North (but not that far North) are starting to get their racing on.

This Saturday at Alpenrose Velodrome in Oregon is the 5th annual Eric Kautzky Memorial Track Race. This is a pretty big annual event so you can expect to see a lot of action there.

Also up at Washington’s Marymoor Velodrome, they’ll be starting up the Friday Night Racing which will go on every week. For riders who still need to cut their teeth (not literally, please), Thursday Night Racing is starting up this week and is designed for new racers.

Meanwhile — for those of us down South (but not that far South) — San Diego Velodrome is starting up their Friday Night Racing this week. Racers who want to qualify for SD Velodrome’s world famous Tuesday Night Racing, need to start with these Friday nights.

On top of all that — weekly Tuesday Night Racing at Hellyer Park and Encino Velodrome are both going strong so if you live on the West Coast you really have no excuse not to come to the track.
