UK’s Revolution Series Is Back!

The “premier track cycling championship” in the United Kingdom is back for its 8th season at the Manchester Velodrome. Revolution — which attracts over 15,000 fans every season — is one of the only events in the world to successfully treat track cycling as a viable spectator sport (which it is). Of course it helps that some of Britain’s greatest racers show up to compete including Bradley Wiggins, Victoria Pendleton, Mark Cavendish and of course Chris Hoy. In addition to the established superstars, Revolution also provides an arena for the country’s young talent to shine with the Future Stars portion of the event.

Most importantly, it’s a great way for people to be able to see some fantastic racing which develops greater interest in the sport. The event promoter hopes to “provide a new style of cycling event in the UK, a style that would increase spectator appeal and change the way people think about the sport” — which is probably why the most recent Revolution event was the first cycling event to be filmed in 3D. I approve!

Season 8 dates have just been confirmed for October 8th, November 20th, December 11th and January 15th. Season tickets go on sale tomorrow and tickets to individual dates go on sale on September 1st. For more information click here.
