Found this beautiful Flickr set of a decaying Helsinki velodrome looking stark and alone. Here’s what the photographer says:

"Built for the 1952 Summer Olympics. As far as I know, the track is either too long or short for current standards and no competitions are held here anymore. American "footballers" use the center - so I’ve heard.

Occasional track bikers still use this. I’ve been here only twice. Just carried my bike inside and started riding. The first time the whole building was deserted, so I figured out I can use the track. Later I found an employee who didn’t seem to care.”
