London track cyclists are celebrating the news that Herne Hill Velodrome — historic site of the 1948 Olympic Games — will be get the attention it deserves.  British Cycling is stepping in to renew the lease on the stadium property and hopefully to help with some much-needed improvements like resurfacing the track and adding this swanky new pavilion building designed by Hopkins Architects (pictured).  The idea is that Herne Hill will become a sister site to London’s new 2012 Olympic Velodrome.
