GRENOBLE SIX: TRACKSTANDERS
I love this shot from Fenlandsnapper at the Grenoble Six Day Race a few weeks ago. The trackstanding contest lasted for 33 minutes and featured some truly legendary trackies. Here’s what Fenlandsnapper says about it:
« One of the features of the Saturday evening at the Grenoble 6 Day track event in 2011 was a track stand competition. The participants were the sprinters at the event with a guest appearance by Arnaud Tournant (center) the world trackstanding record holder (45 minutes). After about 10 minutes, these were the three remaining riders. François Pervis (right) was the first to falter after about 20 minutes I think. The other two lasted to 33 minutes. Grégory Baugé (left) won by outlasting Arnaud Tournant by a minute. »
