Commonwealth Games coverage of the last few sprints in the Women’s 25km Points Race. What a close race!

Australians again dominated the track cycling events winning 3 of the 4 Gold medals awarded today. Anna Meares and Kaarle McCulloch took the Women’s Team Sprint Gold with a new Commonwealth Games record time. Cam Meyer destroyed the Men’s Points Race by lapping the field THREE TIMES. Megan Dunn (as seen in the video) grabbed the Women’s Points win just in the final sprint.

The only thing stopping Australia from an all-gold medal sweep was the Malaysian duo of Josiah Ng and Azizulhasni Awang in the dramatic Men’s Keirin race. Not only did British National Champion Ross Edgar crash out, but Azizul Awang — who crossed the finish line first — was disqualified, defaulting the Gold medal to the next one to cross the line, Josiah Ng. I’ll keep an eye out for that video.

Podium results (and a nifty medal table) are being posted on Cycling Weekly.
