TOLA: Q&A WITH E11’s KEVIN KANG

Takeover LA just did an interview with Engine 11 mastermind Kevin Kang. Kevin sponsored one of my races last year and has since put together a brilliant team who are poised to take over the track world here in Los Angeles. He’s also coming out with some nice looking frames pretty soon so keep an eye for those.

Go check out the interview at TOLA.

WORLD CHAMPS: FRONTSIDE BAR FLIP

One of the more impressive moves I’ve seen on the track this year — especially since the rider gets back up to finish out the race. This comes just a few minutes after the Russian team had their own little mishap. Please take note of the Belgian rider’s hand position before he goes down.

This is why I’m always yelling at my riders: “TOPS OR DROPS!” Your steering is just not as stable with your hands resting on the bar like that and if you get bumped, you’re more likely to crash. There are no brake hoods on these bikes so nothing to stop your hands from sliding forward and losing the bar like this guy. Keep those mittens in the drops or on the top of the bar (the straight part on either side of the stem).

WORLD CHAMPS: BECKY JAMES MAKES IT A DOUBLE

We might be seeing a foreshadowing glimpse at Rio 2016 here at the UCI World Championships. Great Britain’s Rebecca James, who won the World Champion stripes for the Sprint yesterday, has done it again in the Keirin. She’s proving to be in dominant form and poised to be the Britain’s next track superstar.

See all the results HERE.

WORLD CHAMPS: SARAH HAMMER WINS OMNIUM

After starting out the UCI World Championships with a win in the Individual Pursuit, USA’s Sarah Hammer finished off the 5 days of competition by grabbing a World Champion title in the Omnium. Some could consider this Omnium to be a rematch with Great Britain’s defending World Champ Laura Trott who beat Hammer to the Olympic Gold medal at last year’s London Games by just one point. This is Hammer’s first World Champion title in the Omnium, her second World Champion title of this year and her sixth World Champion title overall.
