1. My name is K. That’s short for Kieron. I live on the West Coast and I’m into bikes. Specifically, I’m into track bikes. But this isn’t just another fixed gear blog. I mean I love riding in the streets, through the trails and up the hills but the focus here is that banked oval which curves and writhes some kind of serpentine dream. I’ve been riding for a long time. Recently I’ve started riding more at the velodrome and I’ve found that it’s highly addictive. The speed only limited by how fast you can move your legs, the lean as you follow the black line around the turn, the g-force as your body is pushed into the banking, the pure adrenaline as tunnel vision sets in and all you can see is the end of the next lap. This blog is the virtual incarnation of that addiction. A view from the sprinter’s lane, an ode to the beautiful curves and lines of the velodrome. If you haven’t ridden on the track before, then what are you waiting for? Find your local velodrome and give it a try. It’s amazing how easy it is to get started. It’s even easier to get hooked. Here’s a good place to start. I would love to hear from you. If you know me, give me a shout. If you don’t know me, give me a shout too.
