“Intro To Track Racing” is a six-week course where each week we focus on a different type of race (pursuit, points race, match sprint, etc). The program is perfect for riders who are relatively new to the track and want to become more comfortable in racing situations as well as more experienced racers who want the practice. Most of all, it’s just fun.
All six sessions will be on Wednesday nights from 7:30pm to 10:30pm starting on October 6th. It’s $60 for the full course and if you miss a night, you can make it up the next time we run the course. Space is limited so please pre-register — hit the Paypal button below and bring your receipt to the first session.
If you haven’t ridden on a velodrome before, you must complete the Encino Velodrome Beginner’s Class prior to taking this course (there’s a Beginner’s Class being held on Saturday, September 18th). All riders are welcome to stop by on Sept 29th at 7:30pm for a little prep/evaluation session to determine rider skill levels — nothing serious, just some fun races and such.
For more info please send me an e-mail. Again, space is limited so hit the Paypal button to pre-register and guarantee your spot. -
Reigning Champ vs. World’s Finest
Two prints by Matt Taylor.
Reigning Champ is available to pre-order on his website. World’s Finest will be available exclusively at Art Crank London. -
A little preview of Moth Attack’s new frame made for Jack Lindquist — who is now apparently too fast for his BMC Track Machine. He’ll be riding this one at Elite Nats in a few weeks.
Fillet-brazed. Matte black rattlecan paint. Custom decals to match Jack’s Ritte Racing kit. Nice work! I’ll try to acquire some photos when it’s completely built up.
See a couple more pics at Megan’s Flickr.

Tonight in Los Angeles!
“Movie Mayhem” will consist of 6 checkpoints throughout the surrounding Downtown area. Obviously, the theme for this alleycat will be “Movies”.
Racers will have to be knowledgeable of L.A.’s famous movie landmarks, quotes, actors, movie trivia, etc. Speed may not be a factor in winning, but your knowledge of “movies” will most likely bring you into 1st Place.Since we’re keeping this alleycat as “Messenger Style” traditional as possible, we will not be giving out the nature of the course. But, here’s a little hint….keep the following six movies in mind and study them well:
Six Checkpoints:
- COLORS
- SPUN
- DIE HARD
- MI VIDA LOCA
- TRAINING DAY
- BORN in EAST L.A.START/FINISH will be at the Downtown Independent Theatre
Register @ 6:30p
Race @ 7:30p SHARP
Bike Valet will be availablePrizes will be given out to:
1s, 2nd & 3rd Place Overall

1st Place Youth (17yrs under)
and of course DFL (Dead Freakin’ Last)Presented by Downtown’s Finest.
